Wednesday, October 8 @7pm
Calgary

Barbara Edwards Contemporary, Calgary is pleased to present Naomi Potter, Director/Curator of the Esker Foundation, as moderator in a curatorial discussion between exhibition Curator, Neda Omidvar (Associate Director, Toronto) and Tara Westermann (Associate Director, Calgary) on the work of William Kentridge and Robin Rhode.

Over the last decade, Naomi Potter has developed several curatorial, artist and residency projects in both Canada and abroad. As former curator of the Walter Phillips Gallery at the Banff Centre, she produced solo exhibitions with leading contemporary artists including Geoffrey Farmer, Brian Jungen, and Ragnar Kjartansson. In 2003, Potter was awarded a yearlong artist residency in Istanbul with the Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD).

With extensive international experience, Potter offers fresh and insightful thinking about contemporary art and the ways in which art engages with topical concerns. Omidvar and Westermann bring their working expertise on Kentridge and Rhode to bear in response to Potter’s questions and considerations.
